was established in 2002 by Jono Garton as a dedicated full time Powerboat Training Centre, and quickly established itself as one of the UK’s premier training facilities. The training being based upon the participants enjoying themselves, in a safe manner.
Tristan Phillips joined the team in 2009 as Centre Manager bringing with him a wealth of boating experience and plenty of enthusiasm. Tristan is now the director of Professional Powerboat Training Ltd.
2012 welcomes Jon Geddes as Centre Principal and Share Holder. Jon is an MCA Master/Captain & Officer Of The Watch. He is also the founder of Junior RIBsters, a youth powerboating organisation. Jon has been delivering RYA / MCA courses for many years.
Your time with PPT will be spent with Tristan, Jon and the rest of the team. All of the team have many years boating and teaching experience in a variety of boats and areas. When the team are not teaching you will find them in a variety of different craft completing various extensive trips. It’s not unknown for us to "pop" over to Ireland for a burger and back in time for the evening lifeboat practice.

At Professional Powerboat Training safety is first. We ensure the safety of our students, instructors and the public are our first priority at all times. PPT have taught over 5000 students and are proud to have a 100% safety record.
Learning
Whether you are new to powerboating, or registering for your RYA certificates after years of experience, you should find that you have learned a great deal and gained confidence from one of our courses. At PPT our teaching methods are very professional but informal making it feel more like you're spending time on the water with a friend.
Enjoyment
Powerboating should be fun - and we work hard to ensure that our students have a great time and hopefully stimulate them to take their skills to more advanced levels in the future. Our product is the finest money can buy and we guarentee as much time on the water as possible.
